Bantwal, Aug 31: A farewell programme was organised at the Taluk Administrative Soudha here for village administrative officer Gretta Irene Mascarenhas, who retired after a long and dedicated service of 32 years in the revenue department.

Presiding over the programme, tahsildar Manjunath said that working in the revenue department involves immense responsibility amidst various pressures and challenges. "Though retirement is a definite phase in a government employee's life, the public service rendered during their tenure will always be remembered," he stated. He wished her a peaceful post-retirement life filled with optimism and a happy new lifestyle.

Accepting the felicitation, Gretta Irene Mascarenhas recalled the experiences and the ups and downs of her 32-year long service. "I believe that when government work is done with love and public service is rendered honestly, one can lead a peaceful life after retirement," she said, urging government employees to perform their duties with utmost honesty and discipline.

Headquarters deputy tahsildars Narendranath Mittur, Divakar Muguliya, Shivaprasad, Naveen Kumar Benjanapadavu, Ashif Iqbal, Rashmi Kudlu, revenue inspectors Vijay R, Prashanth Shetty, Ullal taluk revenue inspector Manjunath, Puttur village administrative officer Srikala, and retired government official Juliet Fernandes were present.

Village administrative officer Kruthika Dheeraj welcomed the gathering. Village administrative officer Vinutha proposed a vote of thanks, and village administrative officer Vaishali Sudeesh compered the programme.
