Margao, Aug 25: A 43-year-old scooter rider died after a car allegedly rammed into his two-wheeler at Dandewado-Chinchinim on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sikandar Kandulna, a resident of Dandewado-Chinchinim and a native of Odisha.
According to Cuncolim police, the accident occurred near Dukota Chicken Centre at Dandewado when a Maruti car allegedly being driven in a rash and negligent manner by Swatantra Kumar Chauhan, a resident of Zaino-Velim and a native of Uttar Pradesh, was proceeding from Dandewado towards Sarzora.

At the same time, Kandulna was riding his electric scooter from Sarzora towards Dandewado. The car allegedly collided with the oncoming scooter and dragged the two-wheeler along with its rider for some distance.
Kandulna sustained serious injuries in the accident and was rushed to the South Goa District Hospital for treatment. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.
Cuncolim police have registered a case against Chauhan for allegedly driving rashly and negligently and endangering human life. Further investigation is under way.
