Mangaluru: Progressive farmer, philanthropist Prescilla Monteiro passes away

Mangaluru, Aug 19: Prescilla Monteiro (81), wife of the late Gilbert Monteiro and resident of Moodujeppu, Kelarai, passed away at a private hospital in the city on August 19 following a brief illness.

Known as a progressive farmer and for her charitable nature, Prescilla maintained warm and cordial relationships with her neighbours, friends and acquaintances. She is the mother of Rohan Monteiro, managing director of Rohan Corporation.

She is survived by three sons, including Rohan, three daughters and 14 grandchildren.

The mortal remains will be kept for public viewing at St Anne’s Church, Kelarai, on Friday, August 21, from 10.30 am. Holy Mass will be offered at the church at 11 am, followed by the funeral rites.
