Pipeline burst disrupts water supply in Altinho-Mapusa

Daijiworld Media Network - Mapusa

Mapusa, Aug 18: A water pipeline burst at Altinho-Mapusa on Monday evening, disrupting water supply to the area and resulting in the wastage of thousands of litres of water.

The incident occurred around 5 pm along the side of the one-way road from Court Junction to Peddem.

The pipeline, which is believed to be quite old, supplies water to Altinho and surrounding areas.

Following the burst, officials from the Mapusa water supply office disconnected the water supply to prevent further wastage.

However, by the time the supply was disconnected, thousands of litres of water had already been lost.

Repair work on the damaged pipeline is scheduled to begin on Tuesday morning.
