Kadaba, Aug 12: A refrigerator allegedly exploded with a loud bang at the house of Siddiq, who is employed abroad, at Athoor in Ramakunja village on Tuesday evening, August 11, causing extensive damage to the house.
Siddiq's wife Arifa, who was inside the house when the incident occurred, fortunately escaped unhurt.
According to reports, the refrigerator may have caught fire due to a technical fault or short circuit before exploding with a loud noise. The force of the explosion caused severe damage to the walls, ceiling and furniture of the house.
The fire reportedly spread inside the house immediately after the explosion, destroying electronic appliances and other household items.
Arifa noticed smoke and flames coming from the refrigerator and promptly rushed out of the house, escaping the danger.
Local residents immediately rushed to the spot and assisted in putting out the fire.
