Mangaluru: DMYM organizes ‘YUVA MILAN 2K26’, a special gathering for the youth

Mangaluru, Aug 10: Deva Matha Youth Movement (DMYM), Mogarnad, in collaboration with Youth Commission under the Unity Commission of Mogarnad Church, organized YUVA MILAN 2K26, a special gathering for the youth of Mogarnad Parish, on August 2 at Deva Matha Sabha Bhavana, Mogarnad.

The event commenced with the inaugural programme hosted by Anson Louis. The programme began with a prayer song led by Renita and team, invoking God’s blessings for the day. Fr Anil Canute D’Mello, parish priest of Mogarnad, presided over the programme.

Anoop Preetham Pasanna, president of DMYM Mogarnad, warmly welcomed the gathering. Fr Richard D’Souza, director of ICYM Mogarnad Deanery, addressed the youth and encouraged them to actively involve themselves in the life and activities of the parish.

As a gesture of appreciation, DMYM Mogarnad felicitated Prashanth Luvis for his three years of dedicated and selfless service as DMYM Animator. Christon Menezes, president of ICYM Mangalore diocese, shared an inspiring message on Friendship Day and the power of Gen Z, motivating the youth to recognize their potential and use it positively. Noel Lobo further encouraged the young people to step forward and embrace leadership responsibilities.

One of the major highlights of the inaugural programme was the launch of the new official DMYM Mogarnad jersey, symbolizing unity, identity and a fresh beginning for the movement.

Addressing the gathering, Fr Anil Canute D’Mello urged all the youth to participate enthusiastically in the various activities planned throughout the day. The inaugural programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Rishal D’Souza, vice president of DMYM Mogarnad.

A day of learning, fun and fellowship

Following the inauguration, an insightful session on inter-faith marriage was conducted by Fr Santhosh Rodrigues, the resource person of the day. The session provided an opportunity for the youth to reflect, learn and actively engage in discussions on an important aspect of contemporary society.

The learning session was followed by an energetic dance performance by the DMYM members, adding colour and vibrancy to the gathering.

The day continued with a series of individual and group games, organized by the DMYM Mogarnad Executive Committee along with Maxim D’Cunha. The activities created an atmosphere of fun, teamwork and healthy competition, bringing the youth closer together and strengthening the spirit of fellowship.

The programme concluded with lunch, followed by an enjoyable Baila session, where the participants came together to celebrate friendship and togetherness.

YUVA MILAN 2K26 was marked by enthusiastic participation, meaningful learning, joyful fellowship and a strong sense of unity among the youth of Mogarnad Parish. The event successfully brought together young people in an atmosphere of faith, friendship and celebration, making it a grand success and a memorable day for the entire Mogarnad youth community.
