Ramgarh, Aug 9: At least nine workers were injured after an explosion occurred in a furnace chamber at a private steel plant in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district on Sunday, officials said.
The incident took place at a plant in Murpa village under the Kuju outpost limits during the afternoon, according to officials.

Chief Factory Inspector Manish Sinha said the workers suffered burn injuries after hot metal splashed following the explosion inside the furnace chamber.

Two workers who sustained critical injuries were referred to a private hospital in Ranchi for further treatment, Sinha said.

"Workers sustained burn injuries after hot metal splashed following an explosion in the furnace chamber of the plant," he said.

The Factory Inspector in Hazaribag has been directed to conduct an inquiry into the incident and submit a detailed report at the earliest, Sinha added.
