Atiq Ahmed’s youngest son Aban killed in high-speed car crash in Jhansi

Jhansi, Aug 6: Aban Ahmed, the youngest son of slain gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed, was killed in a high-speed car accident in Uttar Pradesh's Jhansi on Thursday.

According to police, the accident occurred when the speeding car crashed into a road divider. Aban and his friend Sonu, who was travelling with him, sustained critical injuries and died in the mishap.

Several other occupants of the vehicle were seriously injured and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition is yet to be officially disclosed.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jhansi, said the vehicle lost control before hitting the roadside divider. Police have launched an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.

Aban's elder brother, Ali Ahmed, is currently lodged in Jhansi jail after being shifted from Naini Jail in Prayagraj last year.

Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead by three assailants posing as journalists while they were being escorted by police for a medical examination in Prayagraj on April 15, 2023.
