Panaji, Aug 6: Goa Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte met Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi to discuss strategic initiatives aimed at accelerating the state's tourism vision through enhanced air connectivity, improved accessibility, sustainable destination development and regenerative tourism.
The meeting focused on strengthening Goa's tourism ecosystem as the state seeks to position itself as a high-value, year-round destination.

Following the meeting, Khaunte said discussions centred on improving domestic and international connectivity, easing travel for visitors and strengthening destination promotion to support Goa's long-term tourism strategy.
He said the state was moving beyond its traditional image as a beach destination and was actively promoting wellness, heritage, culture, adventure and regenerative tourism to attract a wider range of visitors throughout the year.
Khaunte also expressed gratitude to Shekhawat for the Centre's continued guidance and support, stating that the Goa government looks forward to working closely with the Union Ministry of Tourism to further strengthen the state's tourism sector.
