Meerut, Jul 21: A nurse was allegedly murdered after poison was administered through an intravenous (IV) drip at a hospital in Meerut's Lohia Nagar area, with police arresting two men, including her colleague, in connection with the case.
According to police, the victim, identified as Neha, had begun working at the hospital after the death of her husband, Ravi, about a year ago.
During her employment, she became acquainted with Suresh, a married hospital employee who has a five-year-old son. Police said the two allegedly entered into a relationship.

Investigators said Neha had been pressuring Suresh to marry her over the past two weeks. However, Suresh allegedly wanted to end the relationship and instead conspired to kill her.
During interrogation, police claimed Suresh admitted to searching online for ways to commit murder before allegedly enlisting the help of his friend, Farhan, by promising him money.
According to investigators, Neha visited the hospital on Saturday after complaining of weakness and ill health.
Police alleged that Suresh persuaded her to receive a glucose drip and, while administering the intravenous infusion, mixed poison into it. They further claimed that after Neha lost consciousness, she was forced to consume an additional poisonous substance, resulting in her death.
Officials said the exact poison used and the findings of the post-mortem examination would play a crucial role in the ongoing investigation.
Police further alleged that the accused attempted to portray the death as a case of suicide. According to investigators, Suresh prepared a fake suicide note and placed it among Neha's belongings in an effort to mislead the investigation.
CCTV footage reportedly captured Suresh and Farhan leaving the hospital with the victim around the time of the incident.
Investigators also claimed that after allegedly committing the crime, the two accused went out for a meal together before leaving the area.
Both Suresh and Farhan have been arrested, and police said further investigation is underway to establish the complete sequence of events and gather forensic evidence.
