Plazza raises $15 million to scale AI-powered medicine delivery network

Bengaluru, Jul 20: Quick-commerce medicine delivery startup Plazza has raised $15 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Accel, Elevation Capital and Nexus Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors All In Capital and Better Capital.

The company said the fresh funding will be used to strengthen its technology platform, enhance its artificial intelligence (AI)-driven inventory and assortment intelligence, build operational capabilities, and expand its pharmacy network into new geographies across India.

Founded by Aman Priyadarshi in 2024, Plazza is focused on addressing medicine availability by combining AI-powered inventory management with ultra-fast medicine deliveries within 15 to 30 minutes.

The startup said it has developed a new operating model for pharmacy retail that differs from both conventional neighbourhood pharmacies and e-pharmacy platforms.

According to the company, traditional pharmacies primarily optimise their operations for walk-in customers, while most e-pharmacies focus on maintaining extensive inventories, often at the cost of delivery speed. Plazza seeks to bridge this gap by integrating AI-powered inventory intelligence with rapid fulfilment to ensure that medicines are both readily available and delivered quickly.

Its AI-based inventory management system is designed to improve medicine assortment, predict local demand more accurately, reduce stock shortages, and optimise inventory across its pharmacy network. This enables the company to offer deeper medicine availability while maintaining delivery timelines of 15 to 30 minutes.

The startup said the latest investment will also be used to strengthen its technology infrastructure, improve operational efficiency, and support expansion into new markets as it scales its pharmacy network.

Plazza aims to tackle one of India's most persistent healthcare access challenges by ensuring that patients can obtain essential medicines quickly without compromising on availability through its AI-enabled pharmacy retail model.
