Moodbidri, Jul 15: The Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) Moodbidri deanery is all set to host a grand screening of the hit Konkani movie 'Bapache Putache Navim' on Sunday, August 2. The special screenings will be held at the Scouts and Guides Bhavan, Moodbidri, with four consecutive shows scheduled throughout the day.

This mega cinematic event is being organized as a major fundraising initiative to support the various youth empowerment and socio-cultural activities led by ICYM across the deanery.

The hit film, which was released last November under the banner of Daijiworld Films, is produced by renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist Michael D’Souza under his "Vision Konkani" project. The movie is directed by one of Konkani literature and media's celebrated writers and activists, Stany Bela.

'Bapache Putache Navim' has garnered widespread critical acclaim and immense love from audiences globally for its realistic cinematic approach and heart-touching narrative. The film features an ensemble cast of prominent Konkani artistes, including Walter Nandalike, Dayan D’Souza, Ron Rodrigues, Sunitha Menezes, Sweedal D’Souza, Joshal D’Souza, Melwyn Kalakul, Vinutha D’Souza, Rita Fernandes, Mellu Valencia, Jancy Fernandes, Eddie Sequeira, and John M Permannur.

On the technical front, the movie boasts high-production standards with cinematography by Joel Shaman, music direction by Sanjay Rodrigues, editing by Sharath Hegde, and sound mixing by Loy Valentine Saldanha.

The tickets for the shows are already out and are selling fast. They are available for purchase with all ICYM Moodbidri deanery office-bearers as well as committee members of respective parish units.
