Hyderabad, Jul 15: Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu has said she has long looked forward to becoming a mother, describing her pregnancy as a new and exciting chapter in her life as she and filmmaker-husband Raj Nidimoru prepare to welcome their first child later this year.
The couple, who married in a private yogic ceremony at the Isha Yoga Centre in Coimbatore in December 2025, announced in June that they were expecting their first child after weeks of speculation. Samantha confirmed the pregnancy during the success celebrations of her latest film, Maa Inti Bangaaram, after fans noticed her baby bump at the event.

Speaking in a recent interview, Samantha said motherhood had always been one of her biggest aspirations.
"It's definitely new and exciting. But I've been waiting for this moment for a while now. I've always wanted to be a mother. So I know that I'll be giving this my all," she said.
The actor added that pregnancy has given her a renewed sense of strength and purpose.
"I've always been passionate about everything in life. But now I feel I carry a different, new kind of strength and purpose in me. I'm looking forward to this journey a lot. And I'm filled with gratitude, learning every day, and getting ready to embrace whatever comes next," she said.
Samantha and Raj Nidimoru first collaborated professionally on the Prime Video series The Family Man Season 2 in 2021 and later reunited for Citadel: Honey Bunny in 2024. Speculation about their relationship began in 2024, before the couple made it official by sharing photographs together in 2025. They tied the knot in December the same year.
The actor also confirmed that she would be taking another break from films after the success of Maa Inti Bangaaram, following an earlier career pause after being diagnosed with myositis.
"After Maa Inti Bangaaram, I will have to take a small gap, given my condition. I'll have to take maternity leave. After that, I'll be back with another film for my fans," Samantha said.
Maa Inti Bangaaram has emerged as a major commercial success, crossing the ?100-crore mark worldwide and becoming a significant milestone in Samantha's career ahead of her maternity break.
Samantha was previously married to actor Naga Chaitanya. The couple married in Goa in 2017 before announcing their separation in 2021, shortly ahead of their fifth wedding anniversary. Raj Nidimoru was earlier married to Shhyamali De, although the date of their separation has not been made public.
