Sound and Lighting Technicians Association, Udupi zone holds 15th annual general meeting

Udupi, Jul 3: The 15th annual general meeting of the Udupi zone of the Sound and Lighting Technicians Association, Udupi District, was held at UBMC Hall in Udupi under the chairmanship of Kumar S Bangera.

During the programme, four senior members of the Udupi zone - Prakash Kulal, Abdul Samad, Peter D'Souza, and Sadashiva Acharya, were felicitated in recognition of their long-standing service to the association.

As part of the association's Mahalakshmi Educational Fund, financial assistance was distributed to 16 students to encourage their academic pursuits.

The association also honoured Nithyananda Volakadu for his dedicated and selfless service to society. Accepting the felicitation, Nithyananda expressed gratitude to the association for recognizing his efforts and pledged to remain committed to public service round the clock.

Trophies for the cricket tournament organized by the association were presented by Krishnamoorthy Acharya, social worker and sponsor of the event. Addressing the gathering, he said the Sound and Lighting Technicians Association stood apart from many other organizations by actively engaging in social welfare initiatives in addition to serving its members. He wished the association continued success and assured his support for its future endeavours.

The annual report of the Udupi zone was presented by secretary Don D'Souza, while treasurer Prakash presented the financial statement. District president Satish extended his best wishes to the members.

The programme began with a welcome address by Prakash Naik, followed by an introductory speech by Santosh Shettigar. The vote of thanks was proposed by Don D'Souza, and the proceedings were compered by Shantaram Acharya.
