Konaje man who left home for Mangaluru found dead on Tannirbhavi Beach

Mangaluru, Jul 3: A 40-year-old man who left his home saying he was going to Mangaluru was later found dead on Tannirbhavi Beach on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Mohammed Ashraf (40), son of late Bava and a resident of Kisan Nagar in Harekal village.

According to family members, Ashraf left home on Wednesday after informing them that he was going to Mangaluru and would return shortly. However, his mobile phone was later found switched off, after which he could not be contacted.

As concern grew over his whereabouts, his younger brother Mohammed Asif lodged a missing person complaint at Konaje police station.

On Thursday, Ashraf’s body was discovered on Tannirbhavi Beach in Mangaluru. It was later identified by his family.

A mason by profession, Ashraf is survived by his wife, mother, two brothers and sisters.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
