College student dies by suicide in Beltangady

Beltangady, Jul 2: A 19-year-old first-year student of the Government First Grade College, Beltangady, allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Kadirudyavara village on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Nikhita (19), daughter of Karunakara, a resident of Padi in Kadirudyavara.

Police said the student was found hanging at her house. The exact reason behind the alleged suicide is yet to be ascertained.

A case has been registered at the Beltangady police station, and further investigation is underway.
