New Delhi, Jul 1: Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have reduced the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by Rs 183.50, providing significant relief to restaurants, hotels, caterers and other commercial establishments that depend on LPG for their daily operations.

With the latest revision, the retail price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has been reduced to Rs 2,930. The revised rates came into effect from July 1.

OMCs have also lowered the price of the 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder by Rs 13, bringing its retail price in Delhi down to Rs 808.50.

The price reduction comes after a series of LPG price revisions in recent months. In June, the price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder was increased by Rs 29, raising the retail price in Delhi from Rs 913 to Rs 942.

Earlier, in March, domestic LPG cylinder prices were hiked by Rs 60 amid fluctuations in global energy markets linked to geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

Commercial LPG cylinders had also witnessed a sharp increase in April, when OMCs raised prices by Rs 195.50 across major metropolitan cities, citing higher international energy costs. In January, commercial cylinder prices were increased by Rs 111, while the 5-kg FTL cylinder saw a hike of Rs 27.

The latest reduction in commercial LPG prices is expected to lower operating costs for hotels, restaurants, catering services and other small businesses where cooking fuel accounts for a significant share of expenses.
