Mangaluru, Jul 1: The Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Akademi will organise 'Kaavyan Vhalo-16', a Konkani poetry meet, at the Akademi Hall on July 4, 2026, at 4.00 pm.
The programme will be presided over by Jokim Stany Alvares, president of the Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Akademi. Gokul Das Nayak, joint director of the Department of Industries and Commerce, Mangaluru, will attend as the chief guest.
On the occasion, veteran brass band artiste Melvin D'Souza will be felicitated for his contributions. Renowned poet Dr Dimple Jennifer Fernandes will preside over the poetry session.
Poets Eddy Kaddos Takode, Jayashree Shenoy, Ramachandra Pai, Jenelia D'Almeida, Gracian Paladka, Sonia D'Costa, Raghavendra Prabhu Karvalu, Juliette Fernandes, Raymond D'Cunha, Alani D'Souza, William Madtha (Allipade), and Ajay D'Souza will recite their poems during the event.
The Akademi has invited Konkani language enthusiasts and members of the community to participate in large numbers.
