Mangaluru: Srinivas University conducts a cybercrime awareness session

Media Release

Mangaluru, Jun 29: Srinivas University Institute of Allied Health Sciences proudly appreciates Rashmi Shenoy, department of forensic science, for conducting a cybercrime awareness session titled ‘The psychology of cyber scams: Why even intelligent people become victims?’ for CISF officers at Mangalore International Airport on June 26.

Her session focused on understanding the psychological tactics used by cybercriminals. Not just the technology behind scams, but the human vulnerabilities they exploit.

It explored how emotions such as urgency, fear, trust, curiosity, and authority influence decision-making, making anyone susceptible to cyber fraud. It was about understanding the psychology that drives manipulation and also building the awareness to respond thoughtfully under pressure.

We congratulate Rashmi Shenoy on this valuable contribution and for representing the institution with excellence.

Congratulations and best wishes for many more achievements.
