Oberhausen, Jun 27: Malayalam superstar Mohanlal left fans in Germany cheering with his energetic singing and dance performances at a star-studded cultural event held in Oberhausen.

The actor took the stage at The Complete Actor Mohanlal Live in Germany: Beyond the Screen and performed to popular chartbuster songs, sharing the spotlight with actors Saniya Iyappan, Swasika and legendary playback singer KS Chithra.

One of the biggest highlights of the evening was Mohanlal’s lively dance performance with Saniya Iyappan to Megham Karukatha from Dhanush and Nithya Menen’s film Thiruchitrambalam. The song, which won the National Award for Best Choreography, received a huge response as the duo recreated its signature steps on stage.

Mohanlal also performed with Saniya Iyappan and Swasika to songs including Illuminati from Fahadh Faasil’s Aavesham and Kalapakkara from Dulquer Salmaan’s King of Kotha. Videos from the event went viral on social media, with fans praising the veteran actor’s energy and stage presence.

The actor also shared the stage with KS Chithra, singing along with the legendary singer during the live performance, which became one of the memorable moments of the event.

The cultural programme, held at Rudolf Weber Arena in Oberhausen on June 26, brought together Indian artistes to celebrate cinema with the Indian diaspora in Europe.

Saniya Iyappan later shared pictures and videos from the event on Instagram, including a photograph with Mohanlal, affectionately calling him “Pookie Lalettan”.

On the work front, Mohanlal will next appear in Athimanoharam, scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 24. The film reunites him with director Tharun Moorthy after their successful collaboration in Thudarum.

Mohanlal was last seen in Drishyam 3, directed by Jeethu Joseph, which continues the popular crime thriller franchise.
