New Delhi, Jun 27: The Delhi Police have arrested a 32-year-old YouTuber for allegedly uploading videos showing the stalking and harassment of women and minor girls on Delhi roads, officials said.

The accused, identified as Gurman Singh, a resident of Subhash Nagar, allegedly operated a YouTube channel and Facebook page named Road Safety Waala, where he uploaded videos involving women without their consent.

The YouTube channel reportedly has over 72,000 subscribers and around nine million combined views, while the Facebook page has more than two lakh followers.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Hareshwar Swami said Singh was named in multiple complaints related to allegedly targeting women riders and minor girls. He allegedly rammed or approached vehicles carrying women and later harassed them.

Police said a complaint was received on June 2 from a man who alleged that two unidentified riders intentionally hit his minor daughter’s scooty and later followed them, made inappropriate remarks and used abusive language.

“The father found videos of his daughters uploaded on YouTube ID @bikeronroad33 and on a Facebook page titled ‘Road Safety Wala’. A case was registered under the POCSO Act. Initial scrutiny showed that the accounts mainly featured videos targeting women riders and minor girls,” the DCP said.

A cyber police team led by Inspector Vikas Kumar Buldak examined the social media accounts and allegedly found several videos in which Singh approached women and girls after hitting their vehicles.

According to police, Singh would allegedly begin conversations by saying “Sorry didi” before following them, making objectionable remarks or attempting to collect personal details.

Police conducted a digital and technical analysis of the online content and electronic evidence before arresting Singh from his residence on Friday.

A mobile phone was recovered from his possession during the search. Police said further examination led to the recovery of videos, screenshots, account-related information and other digital evidence allegedly linking him to the creation and uploading of the content.

During questioning, Singh allegedly told police that he created such videos to increase followers, generate viral content and earn revenue through monetisation on social media platforms. Police also alleged that he targeted women riders to attract higher engagement.

Authorities said steps have been initiated to remove the accused’s social media accounts.
