Mangaluru, Jun 24: Carmel English Medium Higher Primary School, CBSE, Kotekar conducted its investiture ceremony for the academic year 2026–27 with great solemnity and enthusiasm on 23rd June 2026. The ceremony marked the formal induction of the newly elected Student Council members, entrusting them with the responsibilities of leadership and service.
The programme commenced with a guard of honour, followed by the lighting of the lamp, prayer service, and prayer song, invoking God’s blessings upon the gathering. The dignitaries were warmly welcomed, after which the pinning of badges and sashes was carried out for the newly elected student leaders. The council members then took the Oath of Office, pledging to discharge their duties with sincerity, integrity, and dedication. As a symbol of their commitment to serve, the Book of Responsibilities was presented to the office bearers.

Adding colour and meaning to the occasion, the cultural segment featured a thought-provoking skit and a melodious song that beautifully highlighted the values of leadership, discipline, teamwork, and selfless service.
The ceremony was graced by chief guest Dr Savitha Dandekeri, professor, Department of Prosthodontics, Yenepoya Dental College, Mangaluru. The programme was presided over by joint secretary Sr Maria Ujwala AC. The occasion was also graced by principal Sr Pramila D’Souza AC, vice principal Sr Anitha D’Souza AC, and administrator Sr Julie Ann AC.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Savitha Dandekeri inspired the newly elected leaders to embrace their responsibilities with confidence, integrity, and commitment. She encouraged them to lead by example, remain humble in service, and strive to make a positive impact on the school community through dedication and compassion.
In her presidential address, Sr Maria Ujvala AC reminded the student leaders that leadership is both a privilege and a responsibility. She urged them to uphold the values of honesty, discipline, humility, and service, and to become role models who lead with wisdom, courage, and compassion while working for the growth and well-being of the school.
The ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks, followed by the School Anthem. The event left the students inspired and motivated to uphold the ideals of leadership, responsibility, and selfless service throughout the academic year, carrying forward the vision and values of Carmel School.
