Hyderabad, Jun 21: A 19-year-old NEET aspirant allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Miyapur on Saturday, just hours before the NEET-UG re-examination. Police suspect that exam-related stress and depression may have driven her to take the extreme step.
The deceased was identified as Sheik Sana. According to Miyapur police, Sana had appeared for the NEET examination last year but could not qualify. She later joined long-term coaching and had been preparing for the medical entrance exam for the past year.
Police said Sana’s parents are staying in Kuwait, while she lived in an apartment in Miyapur with her two sisters. Her aunt was residing in a nearby apartment.

On Saturday morning, Sana had breakfast and went to her room. Her sisters assumed that she was preparing for the examination. However, when she did not come out until evening, they opened the room and found her hanging with her chunni.
The family immediately alerted neighbours, following which police were informed. The body was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem examination.
Police said Sana left behind a suicide note stating that no one was responsible for her death and that she was unable to satisfy anyone.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
