Royce Fernandes elected as president of Lions Club Udyavar Sunshine

Udupi, Jun 20: Royce Fernandes has been elected as the president of Lions Club Udyavar Sunshine, one of the prestigious clubs under Lions District 317C, for the year 2026–27. Along with him, John Prashanth Gomes has been elected as secretary and Wilfred D’Souza as treasurer.

The club has constituted its executive committee for its eighth year of service. The installation ceremony of the newly elected office-bearers will be held on June 26.

Royce Fernandes is actively involved in various social service activities and is currently serving as a member of the Udupi Taluk Land Tribunal Board. He is a former president of ICYM Udyavar and is an active member of the Udyavar Church finance committee. He is also associated with Udyavar Friends Circle, a recipient of the Udupi District Rajyotsava Award.

John Prashanth Gomes is a young entrepreneur and serves as a member of the Udyavar Church Pastoral Council.

Wilfred D’Souza, a former vice president of Udyavar Church, is presently serving as its secretary. He has also rendered seven years of service as president of the Church’s Harmony Committee.

The newly elected team is expected to continue the club’s commitment to community service and social welfare initiatives in the region.
