Soraba, Jun 19: A training workshop on the prevention of human trafficking was organized for members of the Children and Women Awareness Committees at Sneha Jyothi Social Service Centre, Soraba.
Women representatives selected from various villages of Soraba Taluk participated in the workshop and gained awareness about the measures that need to be followed to ensure the safety and protection of women and children.
Resource person Sr Joel, director of Sneha Jyothi Social Service Centre, conducted sessions on the harmful effects of child marriage, safe social interactions, and the risks associated with misuse of media and digital platforms. She emphasized the importance of vigilance and community responsibility in protecting children and women.






Another resource person, Sr Prescilla, spoke on methods to prevent abuse against children and explained how traffickers often lure women through false promises and deceptive offers. She also highlighted the need for women to remain alert and informed to safeguard themselves from trafficking and exploitation.
It was announced that two women members would be selected from each village to serve as committee representatives and work towards preventing human trafficking at the grassroots level.
A committee was formed for the Soraba town area and another at the rural level, and the responsibilities of the members were explained during the meeting.
The programme was attended by the staff of Sneha Jyothi Social Service Centre and 30 women participants from various villages.
Manjappa M K welcomed the gathering and compered the programme. Rita proposed the vote of thanks and sought the cooperation of all members. Prajwal and Sachin Patel of Chandragutti Tandige were also present on the occasion.
