Mumbai, Jun 16: Actor Arshad Warsi has spoken about his long-standing association with filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, saying the director’s faith in him has given him the freedom to explore different facets of his acting abilities over the years.
Sharing his experience in an interaction with IANS, Warsi said working with Hirani has been a rewarding journey and described himself as fortunate to have collaborated with the acclaimed filmmaker multiple times.

“I think every actor who gets an opportunity to work with Raju is truly blessed. I have been fortunate enough to do that twice before, and this is now the third time. I believe Raju has a certain amount of faith in me as an actor. He gives me different kinds of roles to perform, and I enjoy that immensely. I’m looking forward to many more opportunities in the future,” Warsi said.
The actor is now preparing for the release of Pritam and Pedro, which marks Rajkumar Hirani’s debut in the streaming space.
The upcoming sitcom will also introduce Hirani’s son, Vir Hirani, as he makes his acting debut.
The series features an ensemble cast that includes Arshad Warsi, Vikrant Massey, Boman Irani and Mona Singh.
Directed by Avinash Arun, the show has been created and produced by Rajkumar Hirani and will premiere on July 3 on JioHotstar.
Earlier, Warsi had described the project as particularly meaningful because of both his association with Hirani and the opportunity to share screen space with Vir Hirani.
“‘Pritam and Pedro’ is special to me for many reasons. First and foremost, I love working with Raju. He means a lot to me. In many ways, he helped launch my career and later helped revive it as well. I never imagined that the little boy I once held in my arms would one day be acting alongside me. I thoroughly enjoyed playing Pedro because he is an unusual character. I have never met anyone quite like him, and viewers will understand why once they watch the show,” Warsi said.
