New Delhi, Jun 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday highlighted the achievements of women across various sectors as he marked “12 Years of Nari Shakti”, underscoring the NDA government's commitment to women-led development.

In a series of posts on social media platform X, Modi said women are increasingly making their mark in fields ranging from financial inclusion and entrepreneurship to education, healthcare, sanitation, housing, sports, science and governance.

The Prime Minister said the government's efforts over the past 12 years have focused on creating opportunities, ensuring dignity and empowering women to realise their full potential.

“The efforts of the NDA Government are rooted in dignity, opportunity and empowerment. They have helped create an environment where women can realise their full potential and contribute even more strongly to nation-building,” he said.

Modi also highlighted the growing participation of women in science, innovation and space-related sectors. He noted that emerging fields such as drone technology are creating new opportunities for women and contributing to the country's development.

He further said that government support for Self Help Groups (SHGs) has played a significant role in enhancing financial independence among women across the country.

The remarks come a day after leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) gathered in New Delhi to congratulate Modi on completing 4,399 consecutive days in office, making him the longest-serving democratically elected Prime Minister in India to serve continuously.

NDA leaders praised the Prime Minister's 12-year tenure, citing the government's development initiatives, governance reforms and welfare programmes.
