Rashtriya Billava Mahamandala condemns derogatory remarks against Billava Community

Media Release

Udupi, Jun 11: The Rashtriya Billava Mahamandala, the apex national organization representing 307 affiliated associations across the country, has strongly condemned the derogatory, defamatory, and hate-inciting remarks allegedly made by Anita Kasaragodu against the Billava community on social media.

Suryakant Jaya Suvarna, president, Rashtriya Billava Mahamandala, said that the Billava community, inspired by the ideals and teachings of Jagadguru Brahmashree Narayana Guru, has consistently upheld the values of equality, social justice, fraternity, religious harmony, and national unity. The community has made significant contributions to the educational, social, economic, cultural, and political development of society and has played a vital role in promoting peace and harmony among all sections of people.

He stated that such remarks are not merely an insult to the Billava community but also constitute a direct attack on the constitutional values of equality, human dignity, fraternity, and mutual respect. It warned that statements of this nature have the potential to create mistrust, dissatisfaction, social tension, and division, thereby threatening communal harmony and peace.

Emphasizing that the Constitution of India guarantees equal respect and protection to every citizen irrespective of caste, religion, language, or social background, the Suryakant said that targeting, insulting, or defaming any community is highly condemnable and should invite strict legal action.

The Rashtriya Billava Mahamandala urged the concerned authorities to treat the matter seriously and initiate immediate and appropriate legal action against those responsible for hurting the sentiments of millions of Billava community members across the country. Such action, it said, would not only protect the dignity of the community but also strengthen public faith in the rule of law and constitutional principles.

The Rashtriya Billava Mahamandala also appealed to citizens from all sections of society to reject hatred and divisive tendencies and to uphold the ideals of peace, harmony, brotherhood, and national unity preached by Brahmashree Narayana Guru.
