Mangaluru, Jun 11: The foundation stone-laying ceremony (silanyasa) for the construction of the new building of the Shedde Shri Vishnumoorthy Temple in Moodushedde, Mangaluru, will be held with religious fervour on Thursday, July 2. A large number of political, religious, and social dignitaries are expected to attend the event.
In preparation for the ceremony, Kalyan Lok Sabha member of parliament (MP) Dr Shrikant Eknath Shinde was formally invited to attend the event as the chief guest.



A delegation led by Moodushedde Vishwanath S Shetty, president of the Mumbai committee of the temple, met Dr Shrikant Shinde on Thursday afternoon at 'Nandanavan', the official residence of the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra at Mount Pleasant Road, Malabar Hill in Mumbai, to personally hand over the invitation card. Anupama Shetty, Diwakar Rai, Sharmila D Rai, and Subhash Shetty Innanje were present on the occasion.
Vishwanath Shetty, a well-known hotelier in Thane-Bhiwandi, former executive chairman of the Bhiwandi regional committee of Buntara Sangha Mumbai, and executive chairman (trustee) of the Shri Mookambika Devi Temple Renovation Committee in Shahad East, has issued an appeal on behalf of the temple management. He has requested devotees from the Brihanmumbai region to attend the foundation stone-laying ceremony in large numbers to ensure the grand success of the programme.
