Mangaluru, May 22: The Tulu film ‘Gajanana Cricketers (Jantottu Since 1983)’, produced under the banner of Prajwal Films by Prajwal Shetty and directed by Keerthan Bhandary, has been released across the coastal districts.
The film’s release function was held at Bharath Cinemas, where guests inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Assembly Speaker U T Khader attended the programme and conveyed his best wishes to the team.
Senior director Vijaykumar Kodialbail, speaking at the event, said that newcomers and young talents are shining in the Tulu film industry by following the path laid down by seniors. He wished that talented youngsters continue to score ‘boundaries and sixers’ in the film industry.
Producer Prakash Pandeshwar said that audiences who watched the premiere shows of Gajanana Cricketers have appreciated the film. He added that producer Prajwal Shetty, Rohan Pereira and Santosh Lad had worked hard on the movie and appealed to the public to watch and support the film.
Entrepreneur Michael D’Souza also conveyed his wishes to the team.

The film has been released in Mangaluru, Surathkal, Padubidri, Udupi, Kundapur, Manipal, Karkala, Puttur, Beltangady, Deralakatte and several other places.
The movie is said to be one of the big-budget films in the Tulu language and is based on cricket and the lives of players. The film features a gripping storyline packed with humour, romance and a socially relevant message.
Keerthan Bhandary has written the story and screenplay and has also directed the film. Producer Prajwal Shetty plays the lead role in the movie.
