Water tanker collision in Kaup: Scooter rider dies on spot in Panioor accident

Kaup, May 19: A 22-year-old scooter rider died on the spot after his vehicle collided with a water tanker at Panioor in Kaup on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Krishna Mulya (22), a resident of Panioor Centre.

According to reports, the youth had gone to purchase milk and was returning home on his scooter when the accident occurred. A water tanker moving ahead of him reportedly turned right to enter the Kanchugara road, when the scooter rammed into it.

The impact of the collision was severe, causing the rider to fall onto the road and suffer serious head injuries. He was found lying in a pool of blood.

Local residents rushed him to Ucchila via SDPI ambulance, led by Jallaluddin, and shifted him to Udupi District Hospital. However, doctors declared that he had already succumbed to his injuries.

Paduubidri police visited the spot and conducted an inspection. Further investigation is underway.
