Ghaziabad, Apr 29: A major fire broke out in a residential apartment at Gaur Green Avenue society in the Abhay Khand area of Indirapuram on Wednesday morning, triggering panic among residents.

Thick plumes of smoke were seen billowing from the building as the blaze rapidly spread, with initial reports suggesting that multiple flats were affected.

Fire department teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving the alert, and several fire tenders were deployed to bring the flames under control.

A resident, identified as Rohit, said around 10 to 12 flats were gutted in the fire. He suspected a possible electrical issue, though the exact cause is yet to be ascertained.

Officials said firefighting operations were in progress, and there was no immediate confirmation of any injuries or casualties.

The incident in the densely populated Indirapuram locality caused widespread concern, with emergency teams continuing efforts to contain the blaze. Further details are awaited.
