Udupi, Apr 29: A 37-year-old passenger travelling from Coimbatore to Jabalpur was rushed to Ajjarkad District Hospital late Monday night after he suddenly fell seriously ill during the journey.

The passenger, identified as Lakshmanan, a native of Ambasamudram in Tamil Nadu’s Uthamapalayam region, reportedly began vomiting and was left in a helpless condition while on the train.

Alert passengers and the on-duty ticket examiner noticed his condition and arranged for him to be deboarded at Indrali railway station in Udupi. The matter was immediately brought to the attention of railway station authorities.

Station officials later contacted social worker Nityananda Olakadu for assistance, following which the passenger was shifted to Ajjarkad District Hospital for treatment.
