Shivpuri, Apr 25: The Adani Foundation has established a garment skills and production centre in Badarwas block of Madhya Pradesh’s Shivpuri district under its CSR initiative aimed at empowering women and enhancing their incomes.
The centre will provide training in apparel production using modern machinery and connect women artisans to markets for better earnings, officials said.

Adani Foundation CEO Abhishek Lakhtakia said around 1,500 women would be linked to the Adani Vikas Kendra through the initiative.
He said women would be trained to work on modern machines and supported in improving product quality and design, while also being provided market access for their garments.
Project manager Arvind Bhargava said more than 3,500 women in the Badarwas block are already engaged in tailoring and jacket-making, and the new centre with 600 machines is expected to generate employment for 1,200 to 1,400 women.
He said the initiative is expected to raise women’s monthly incomes and contribute to the Prime Minister’s ‘Lakhpati Didi’ vision.
Trainer Anisha Dixit said 113 women have already been trained, while the target is to train another 1,300 women this year.
She said the facility would open up new livelihood opportunities for women from nearby rural areas, many of whom previously practised tailoring only from their homes without institutional support.
The Adani Foundation said it is currently operating in 7,071 villages across 22 states, impacting around 9.6 million people.
