Udupi, Apr 24: The Prasanna School of Public Health, a constituent unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, is hosting the Manipal Global Health Summer Course (MGHSC) 2026, an international academic programme bringing together students of public and global health from across partner universities worldwide.
Jointly organized in collaboration with Maastricht University and McMaster University, the course is being conducted from April 19 to April 30, 2026 at Manipal.

The weekend conference inauguration of MGHSC 2026 will be held on April 25, at 08:45 am (IST) at Dr TMA Pai Hall, First Floor, Manipal. The programme will be inaugurated by Dr Sharath Kumar Rao K, pro vice chancellor (health sciences), MAHE. The guest of honour for the event will be Dr Pragya Sharma, executive director, National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), Government of India.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr Cherian Varghese, professor and director, PSPH, said that the course brings together diverse academic and experiential learning components to actively engage students. “The program enables participants to work in international teams, undertake system mapping exercises, and build a global perspective on health challenges and solutions,” he added.
The programme features a blend of academic sessions and hands-on workshops, along with cultural experiences for international participants, including Indian cooking, cultural dance, mehndi, yoga, and communication skills. The course also includes sessions with alumni, who will share insights on the program’s impact on their professional growth and career trajectories.
The Manipal Global Health Summer Course continues to serve as a dynamic platform fostering global collaboration, interdisciplinary learning and cross-cultural exchange in public health education.
