Ranveer offers settlement in ‘Don 3’ fallout with Excel Entertainment

Mumbai, Apr 22: In a significant development in one of Bollywood’s most popular disputes, Ranveer Singh has reportedly initiated steps to resolve his fallout with filmmaker Farhan Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani’s banner Excel Entertainment, following his exit from Don 3.

According to reports, the actor has agreed to return his signing amount of around Rs 10 crore to the production house. Additionally, he has reportedly offered to provide Excel Entertainment a stake in his upcoming film, tentatively titled Pralay. However, the exact details of the stake remain undisclosed.

It is pertinent to note that neither Ranveer Singh nor Farhan Akhtar or the production house has officially confirmed these developments.

The dispute surfaced after Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3, which was being produced by Excel Entertainment. Reports suggested that the production house had sought compensation of around Rs 40 crore, citing pre-production expenses, scheduling disruptions, and related losses.

Sources indicated that Ranveer opted out of the project due to concerns over the script, including the absence of a bound screenplay, and issues related to the project’s execution. As tensions escalated, the Producers Guild of India reportedly stepped in to mediate between the parties.

Amid the controversy, there were also reports suggesting that Aamir Khan had intervened to broker peace. However, these claims were later denied by the actor.

Meanwhile, the future of Don 3 remains uncertain, with no official announcement from the makers. Speculation has also emerged that Farhan Akhtar himself may step into the lead role, though no confirmation has been made.

With discussions reportedly underway, the resolution of the dispute may pave the way for clarity on the future of the Don franchise.
