Mumbai, Apr 21: Akshay Kumar’s latest horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla has emerged as a strong box office performer, crossing the Rs 100 crore mark worldwide within just three days of its release.
The film, produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, witnessed a steady rise over the weekend. It collected Rs 21.60 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 25.65 crore on Saturday, and saw a further jump to Rs 30.20 crore on Sunday. The total global collection now stands at Rs 102.05 crore.
Sharing the milestone, the makers said, “Across borders, the laughter is universal!”, highlighting the film’s wide appeal.

A major factor behind the film’s success is the reunion of Akshay Kumar with director Priyadarshan after a gap of 14 years. The combination, known for delivering hit comedies in the past, appears to have struck the right chord with audiences once again.
The film blends elements of traditional comedy with supernatural drama. It follows the story of Arjun, played by Kumar, who travels from London to a village in India after his sister inherits a palace. However, the place is shrouded in a mysterious curse, with brides reportedly disappearing, setting the stage for a mix of humour and suspense.
Apart from Kumar, the film features a strong ensemble cast including Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and Mithila Palkar.
‘Bhooth Bangla’ also marks Priyadarshan’s return to Hindi cinema after five years, adding to the film’s significance in the industry.
