Sensex, Nifty trade higher; power, PSU bank stocks lead gains

Mumbai, Apr 20: Benchmark domestic equity indices were trading around half a per cent higher in afternoon trade on Monday.

The BSE Sensex rose 382 points to 78,876, while the Nifty 50 gained 115 points to 24,469 at the time of reporting.

Sector-wise, power, PSU bank and utilities stocks led the gains, reflecting buying interest in these segments.

On the other hand, realty, IT and telecommunication stocks were trading in the red, bucking the overall positive trend in the market.
