Mumbai, Apr 18: Actor Akshay Kumar has confirmed that the much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3 is not happening anytime soon, stating that the project is currently facing multiple issues.

Speaking in a recent interview with Shubhankar Mishra, Akshay said the film has been delayed despite strong public anticipation.

“Hera Pheri 3 abhi filhaal toh nahi ban rahi,” he said, adding that even he was surprised by the situation when he first learned about it.

Akshay explained that while the core cast remains united, several production-related and contractual issues are holding the project back.

“It’s not happening in the next year. There are many issues; it’s not like the three of us are not together. We are all together in Welcome to the Jungle,” he said.

He further hinted at behind-the-scenes complications, stating that certain agreements and unresolved matters are delaying the film, though he avoided going into details on camera.

The actor also added a light-hearted remark about resolving the issues, saying “thoda mantra padna padega ki sab theek ho jaaye,” suggesting that things need to settle before the project moves forward.

The third instalment of the cult comedy franchise was announced in January 2025 but has since been delayed amid controversy, including Paresh Rawal’s brief exit and a legal dispute over franchise rights.

Rawal later confirmed his return to the film in July 2025. The original cast includes Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty, who had earned massive popularity through the earlier two instalments.
