South Delhi double murder: Father, son stabbed to death over money dispute

New Delhi, Apr 18: A father and his son were brutally stabbed to death in south Delhi’s Chittaranjan Park area on Friday evening, reportedly following a dispute over money, police sources said.

The deceased have been identified as Rakesh Sood and his son Karan Sood. Police said they received information about the incident from an apartment in the F Block area and immediately rushed to the spot, where both victims were found lying outside their residence in a pool of blood.

They were taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared them brought dead.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the attack was triggered by a financial dispute. Karan, who assisted his father in a property business, had allegedly argued with the accused earlier in the day, which later escalated into a violent confrontation.

During the altercation, the accused is believed to have attacked Karan multiple times with a sharp-edged weapon. Rakesh reportedly intervened to protect his son but was also repeatedly stabbed, resulting in his death.

Crime and forensic teams have examined the scene and collected evidence, while CCTV footage from the area is being analysed to identify and trace the accused.

Police suspect the involvement of more than two individuals in the crime, adding that the nature of the attack points to prior enmity. The accused has been identified but remains absconding, and efforts are underway to apprehend those involved.
