Mangaluru Apr 17: The Bimba Pratishtha (idol consecration) and Brahmakalashotsava of the Sri Shanaishchara temple, a religious centre managed by Hindu Yuva Sene at Padavu, Kulshekar, will be held from April 18 to 24 with a series of vedic rituals and cultural programmes, informed Brahmakalashotsava Committee president Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Addressing a press conference held on the temple premises on April 16, he said that the religious ceremonies will be conducted under the guidance of M Giridhar Bhat and Dr Sathyakrishna Bhat. The programmes will commence on April 18 with a mass prayer.

As part of the rituals, 108 Kaayi Ganayaga, Rudrayaga, and Lakshminarayana Pradhana Homa will be held until April 22. On April 23, the consecration of idols of Lord Ganapati, Durga, Navagraha, and Sri Shanaishchara, along with Brahmakalasha Abhisheka, will take place. The celebrations will conclude on April 24 with Chandika Yaga and the grand Shanaishchara Mahayaga.
As part of the festivities, a Hasiruvaani (offering procession) will be held on April 19 at 9 am, from Sharavu Mahaganapathi temple to Padavu Temple, which will be flagged off by Raghavendra Shastri of Sharavu. Later in the evening, a gathering of Hindu Yuva Sene will be held at Shivaji Mantapa.
Cultural programmes including Yakshagana, drama, and musical performances will also be Annasantarpane (mass feeding) will be provided daily for devotees, and the organisers have invited the public to participate in large numbers.
MLA Vedavyas Kamath, working president of the committee, along with general secretary Bhaskar Chandra Shetty, Shanaishchara Pooja Committee president Ramachandra Chowta, Mathrumandali president Vijaya Arun, Temple Construction Committee president Kadri Navaneeth Shetty, and Umesh Rai were present at the press meet.
