Mangaluru, Apr 14: The ICYM Permude unit of St John the Baptist Church Permude celebrated its 47th Annual Day with great enthusiasm and joy in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, parishioners, and youth.
The programme began with a warm welcome address delivered by the ICYM president, Lionel Fernandes, who greeted the gathering and set the tone for the celebration.
The event was graced by the distinguished guest of honour, Ivan D’Souza, Member of the Karnataka Legislative Council, who was felicitated as a mark of respect and appreciation. In his address, he motivated the youth to take active roles in society and leadership.
Also present on the dais were Fr Jesudas, ICYM Director of Pezar Varado, and Fr Ronald Pinto, parish priest, who appreciated the efforts of the youth and blessed the gathering.
The Parish Pastoral Council vice president, Roshan Rodrigues, secretary, Anitha D’Souza, All Commission coordinator, Henry Edwin D’Cunha and Permude unit ICYM animator Vinitha Tauro were also present and extended their support and encouragement to the ICYM members.
The annual report was presented by the secretary, Theresa Mathias, highlighting the activities and achievements of the unit throughout the year.
The formal programme was efficiently compered by Lara Rodrigues, while the cultural programme was compered by Neola D'Cunha.
A vibrant cultural programme was presented by the youth and parishioners, showcasing their talents and unity, which was well appreciated by the audience.
Following the cultural programme, a film titled 'FONDACHO MISTHER', directed by Rayan Magneto, was screened for the audience, adding further entertainment to the celebration.
On this occasion, a cheque amounting to Rs 2,11,576 was handed over to the parish priest, Fr Ronald Pinto, by the ICYM president Lionel Fernandes, secretary Theresa Mathias, and former president Sony Neha D’Souza, as a contribution towards the Dimond jubilee project of the church.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks proposed by the treasurer, Maclin Fernandes, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the celebration.
