Guna, Apr 12: A tragic late-night road accident in Guna claimed the lives of a husband and wife, while leaving a young man and a four-year-old child seriously injured after a car collided with a tractor and two motorcycles.
The incident occurred on the Kumbhraj–Mohanpur road when, according to preliminary police reports, a car attempting to overtake a tractor crashed after the tractor reportedly lost control or veered into the wrong lane. The collision triggered a chain reaction, involving two oncoming motorcycles.
The impact of the crash was severe, leaving the vehicles badly damaged. The victims, identified as Kailash Singh (58) and Badi Bai (55) from Badaud village, were riding one of the motorcycles. Kailash Singh died on the spot, while his wife succumbed to injuries at a nearby hospital.

Their four-year-old grandson, Ashish, who was also involved in the accident, sustained injuries and has been admitted to a community health centre in Kumbhraj. Another ???? riding the second motorcycle was critically injured and shifted to the district hospital for treatment.
Eyewitnesses described a chaotic scene, with debris scattered across the road. Local residents rushed to assist the injured before emergency services arrived.
Police officials stated that the tractor driver has been detained, and a case has been registered under relevant provisions of the law. Initial findings point toward overspeeding and possible negligence, including the possibility that the tractor driver lost control.
Authorities are continuing their investigation, examining factors such as vehicle condition, driver fatigue, and potential overloading. CCTV footage, if available, will also be reviewed to determine the exact sequence of events.
Meanwhile, grieving family members have called for improved road safety measures, as police proceed with post-mortem formalities and further inquiry into the accident.
