Mukesh Khanna hits back at Samay Raina over Shaktimaan remark

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Apr 9: Veteran actor-producer Mukesh Khanna has strongly criticised comedian Samay Raina after the latter took a dig at his iconic 90s superhero character Shaktimaan during a recent “Still Alive” show.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Khanna launched a scathing attack on Raina, using sharp analogies and harsh language to express his displeasure. He compared the comedian to a “crooked dog’s tail,” suggesting that no amount of correction could change his behavior, and accused him of repeatedly crossing the line despite public backlash.

Khanna further intensified his criticism by calling Raina “shameless” and alleging that he continues to seek attention even after facing criticism. He went on to say that insulting a beloved character like Shaktimaan—considered a childhood hero by many—had deeply offended audiences.

The actor’s remarks come shortly after Raina, during his show, made comments about “irrelevant people” trying to gain attention amid the ongoing controversy surrounding his “India’s Got Latent” act. In his routine, Raina referenced Shaktimaan in a mocking tone, questioning the moral standing of the character.

The exchange has sparked fresh debate online, with fans divided over the limits of comedy and the protection of nostalgic cultural icons like Shaktimaan.
