Mangaluru author Reshel Fernandes to launch book on National Unity Day

Mangaluru, Apr 5: Author Reshel Bretny Fernandes, an ABVP member and Kittur Rani Chennamma state awardee, is set to launch her latest book on the occasion of National Unity Day (Ekta Divas), celebrating India’s spirit of unity in diversity.

A final-year LLB student at SDM Law College, Fernandes has been actively writing on themes such as “Bharat @2047 – Role of Youth” and “Surajya – Good Governance Wheel of Democracy,” reflecting her focus on nation-building and youth engagement.

The book launch coincides with the observance of Ekta Divas, highlighting India’s ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and the vision of a Viksit Bharat. Her work aims to emphasise unity as a key strength of the nation’s diverse social fabric.

Fernandes, who has expressed interest in joining the Bharatiya Janata Party in the near future, has reportedly received appreciation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other leaders.

She has been honoured with several national and international accolades, including the Deshratna Award 2025 presented at Bharat Mandapam and the J Maurus Award by the Indian Catholic Press Association.

Fernandes has also been listed among the top 10 authors of 2025 by a global media platform and is regarded as a prominent emerging voice of modern India.
