Mangaluru, Apr 2: The Mangala Group of Educational Institutions successfully conducted its Annual Sports Meet 2026 at Mangala Stadium, showcasing enthusiasm, discipline and exemplary sportsmanship.

The Annual Sports Meet 2026 was inaugurated the presence of Dr Ganapathi P, chairman and Dr Anitha G Bhat, vice chairman. The proceedings were guided by Prof Pratijna Suhasini G R, principal of Mangala College of AHS and Paramedical Sciences, Prof Subrahmanya Nayak, principal of Mangala College of BSc Nursing, Dr Bharath KH, principal of Mangala College of Physiotherapy, and Dr Dharmaraja K, student welfare & administrative officer, supported by vice principal Geethalakshmi and physical education directors Yogesh Patgar and Arun Kumar.

A disciplined march-past by students from all five constituent colleges—Mangala College of Nursing, GNM, paramedical sciences, AHS and BPT—marked the inaugural ceremony, followed by the flag hoisting to officially commence the meet

The day’s events began with including a variety of track events such as 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m races, along with field events including long jump, high jump, shot put and discuss throw. Separate categories for men, women and staff ensured inclusive participation

The relay races later in the day emerged as a major highlight, drawing enthusiastic support from spectators and demonstrating strong teamwork and sportsmanship among participants.

The programme concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, recognizing winners for their outstanding performances. Mangala College of Allied Health Sciences was declared the overall champion of the meet. The event ended with the National Anthem.
