Mumbai, Mar 29: Bollywood actress Sanya Malhotra recently paid homage to the iconic Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) by recreating the popular song “Zara Sa Jhoom Lu Main” in her Instagram Stories. Dressed for the snowy outdoors, Sanya danced to the Asha Bhosle–Abhijeet Bhattacharya track, delighting fans who have long cherished the film’s songs, dialogues, and characters.

The tribute comes as DDLJ completes 30 years since its release. To mark the milestone, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol unveiled bronze statues of their beloved characters Raj and Simran at London’s Leicester Square. The film is now the first Indian movie to be immortalised in a statue there, joining cult characters from films like Harry Potter, Mary Poppins, Paddington, Singin’ in the Rain, as well as superheroes like Batman and Wonder Woman.

Meanwhile, Sanya has also begun shooting her next project, the romantic thriller Sundar Poonam, directed by Pulkit. She shared glimpses of the puja ceremony on Instagram, posting pictures of the aarti, clapboard, and candid moments with her co-stars, including Aditya Rawal. The film, part of Prime Video’s 2026 slate, is reportedly inspired by the 2025 Meghalaya honeymoon murder case, in which an Indore-based businessman was killed shortly after his wedding.

In addition to Sundar Poonam, Sanya will feature in the dark comedy Toaster alongside Rajkummar Rao, set to premiere on Netflix on April 15. Her recent posts signal an exciting year ahead for the actress, blending tributes to Bollywood classics with her upcoming projects.
