Mangalueu, Mar 28: A one-day Cubs and Bulbuls camp was held on March 26 at Mount Carmel Central School, Mangaluru, marked by great enthusiasm and the active participation of 74 Cubs and Bulbuls.
The chief guest, administrator Sr Carissima, along with Sr Asha Prima, superior of Vijayamari Convent, head teacher Sr Reshma, and coordinator Tr Reshma, was ceremoniously escorted to the venue by cub master Laveena and flock leader Ireal.
The inauguration began with a warm and well-organized opening led by Tr Jenitha. The programme included the Cubs and Bulbuls greetings, a prayer song, a welcome address, and the flag hoisting by Cub Viyaan Suvarna.








































The camp was formally inaugurated by Sr Carissima, who delivered an inspiring message highlighting the value of teamwork and encouraging the participants to live by the motto, “Do Your Best”, in all their activities. This was followed by the formation of groups, after which the day’s sessions commenced.
The camp featured a range of informative and engaging activities. A first aid session was conducted by the school nurse, Juliet Dsilva, while the health and hygiene session was led by the school counsellor, Philomena Pinto. These were followed by interactive group activities.
A special “Cooking without Fire” session enabled the children to prepare sprout salad and juice, fostering creativity and practical skills. Craft and colouring activities encouraged artistic expression, while outdoor knot-tying and recreational games added excitement and strengthened team spirit.
The camp concluded with a vibrant closing ceremony that included a campfire, experience sharing, and prize distribution. Sr Asha Prima addressed the gathering with words of encouragement, and the vote of thanks was delivered by flock leader Ireal Ferrao.
The day ended with the lowering of the flag, followed by the distribution of snacks and dispersal.
The camp concluded on a joyful and memorable note, leaving the young Cubs and Bulbuls enriched with valuable lessons, cherished memories, and a deeper spirit of unity and cooperation.
