Media Release

Udupi, Mar 25: The KMC Hospital Emergency Center operating at Sri Krishna Hospital Kakkinje continues to play a crucial role in delivering timely emergency care along the accident-prone Charmadi Ghat stretch.

In a recent incident near the 9th turn of the ghat, a mini tempo traveller carrying pilgrims from Tarikere lost control and hit a roadside barrier, leaving several passengers injured. With the cooperation of the public, Dhanvi Ambulance from Ujire and passengers travelling towards Mangaluru in their private vehicles rushed the injured to the KMC Hospital Emergency Center operating at the nearby Sri Krishna Hospital Kakkinje for immediate medical attention.

The doctors and staff at the emergency center responded promptly, providing appropriate and timely treatment that helped stabilise the patients. Around 10 passengers, including children, were injured, treated, and subsequently discharged from the hospital.

Supported by KMC Hospital, the emergency centre at Sri Krishna Hospital Kakkinje is equipped to manage trauma and emergency cases in the region. The facility has consistently responded to road accidents and other incidents in and around Charmadi Ghat, contributing significantly to saving lives through rapid intervention.

For cases requiring further treatment, Sri Krishna Yogakshema Ambulance services are utilised to transport patients to Mangaluru, with the support of KMC Hospital Emergency Technicians, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
