Jason Lobo unveils soulful Lenten original ‘Natli Taka Sobhay’ inspired by Snehalaya’s Mission

Media Release

Mangaluru, Mar 25: Renowned vocalist and composer Jason Lobo has announced the release of his latest Konkani Lenten original, ‘Natli Taka Sobhay.’ This poignant musical reflection delves into the spirit of sacrifice and compassion, drawing deep inspiration from the humanitarian work of the Snehalaya Charitable Trust.

By weaving together, the themes of the holy season with the real-world service provided to the underprivileged, the project serves as a powerful reminder to recognize the presence of Christ in the suffering and to embrace a life of gratitude and kindness.

The song’s lyrical foundation, penned by Fr Jocy Siddakatte, is rooted in the biblical prophecy of Isaiah 53, capturing the redemptive love and selfless suffering of Christ. Jason Lobo leads the track with his emotive vocals, supported by the harmonious voices of chorus singers Prithuma Monteiro and Bindu Cutinha.

The musical landscape was meticulously crafted by arranger and programmer Russel Rodrigues, featuring the soulful instrumental contributions of Gautham Birva on tabla and Hrishikesh Upadhyaya on flute. The final sound was polished by Nithin Koottungal of Orpheus Designs, Kochi, ensuring a world-class listening experience.

Visually, the project is grounded in its mission of service. The music video was filmed on the premises of the Snehalaya Charitable Trust in Manjeshwar, Kerala, capturing authentic moments of love and care. The production team — including media consultant Stany Bela, videographer Arvin MJ, still photographer James Prakash Victor, and editor Lionel Sequeira — worked to translate the song’s spiritual depth into a compelling visual narrative. The project also features English subtitles by Prithuma Monteiro to ensure its message reaches a global audience.

This significant cultural contribution was made possible through the patronage of NRI entrepreneur and philanthropist Michael D’Souza and Flydubai under the ‘Vision Konkani’ banner. Their generous support continues to foster the growth of Konkani art and spiritual music. ‘Natli Taka Sobhay’ is now available for streaming on all major music platforms and can be viewed on the Jason Lobo Music YouTube channel.
